Introduction Nolmar Corporation
"I fill my days with worthwhile pursuits. I look for ways to better serve the customers."
- Nolan A. Marshall
According to a popular saying, "Nothing happens until somebody sells something." Any entrepreneur can attest that sales and marketing are integral to the health of a business. Robyn Marshall-Wallace, CEO of Nolmar Corporation, can attest that sales isn’t just a job, but an ongoing relationship with clients. Robyn Marshall-Wallace, President

CEO Nolmar Corporation
Nolan Marshall founded Nolmar in 1978 after he had been an independent salesman for nearly 30 years. "It’s always been my desire to go into business. Even as a boy, I imagined working for myself," he used to say. When the business first opened, Marshall tried selling only janitorial supplies and industrial chemicals, but he found that customers frequently would request a service along with the supplies they bought. Eventually he began offering janitorial services, facility management, waterproofing and roofing as well. It was a natural progression, Robyn recalls, one that he referred to as "homogeneous grouping."
Robyn believes as her father did that being true to customers and employees is the most important aspect of entrepreneurship. Nolan would fill his days "with worthwhile pursuits", he said. He looked for "ways to better serve the customers." He would also always search for ways to help Nolmar’s 40 employees grow with the company, noting that the first 10 people he hired are still with Nolmar. The training and support employees receive help Nolmar identify and grasp opportunities for achievement.
Nolmar has entered into several co-ventures with local government agencies and private corporations. These opportunities are available to us because of our reputation for quality work and timeliness. "I never looked at it as a change of field, just a change of project, " Nolan said of his diverse sales career, which also included accounting and insurance experience. He was recognized for his outstanding business achievements from many New Orleans organizations, including the first Lifetime Achievement Award from the Greater New Orleans Black History Awards.
